Is my air conditioner too
small?
Probably not. If you
think your air conditioner is too
small there is probably some problem
causing it to operate at less than
full capacity. This could be as simple
as a lack of maintenance. A slight
shortage of refrigerant (FREON) can
affect performance greatly. Dirty
system components and filters will
also reduce air conditioning capacity.
Let
AdkinsAir service your
system. We'll clean the components and
insure that the refrigerant (FREON) is
at precisely the right level. 99% of
the time this will take care of the
problem. If we think that your system
actually IS too small,
AdkinsAir
can run a computerized survey and tell
you exactly what size the system
should be.

Which manufacturer
makes the best air conditioner?
Air conditioning is a matured
technology so almost all the popular
brands work equally well. Most air
conditioning units are made of
components made by the same
manufacturers. The difference for you,
the consumer, is less of a brand name
issue than it is an issue of who is
your contractor. What good is a 1
year, or a 5 year, or a 10 year
warranty if your contractor has gone
out of the air conditioning business
and is now in the swimming pool
business. Choose your contractor and
let your contractor choose your brand
based on what he thinks is best for
your application

How do I choose a
contractor?
First and foremost, choose a
contractor who is licensed by The
State of Georgia. A licensed
contractor has undergone extensive
testing to insure that the contractor
is qualified in all facets of HVAC
(Heating, Ventilation, and Air
Conditioning.) Choose a contractor
that has been around for at least 10
years. You want a contractor that will
be there 5 years down the road when
something goes wrong. Ask for
references,
AdkinsAir
can give
references for nearly every
sub-division and street in our area.
We strive to please our customers so
they will recommend us to their
neighbors. We at
AdkinsAir
believe that our greatest asset is our
satisfied customers. If you are
pleased with our services, please tell
you friends and neighbors. If you are
not pleased with our service, please
let us know so that we can do whatever
it takes to turn you into a satisfied
customer. And we will, THIS is our
promise

Why is my unit
icing-up? I have frost on the coil
and copper tubing.
There are several reasons for an air
conditioning system to freeze up and
they are ALL related to a lack of
maintenance. An air conditioning
freeze up is caused by a lack of
airflow or a lack of refrigerant
(FREON). Both of these conditions are
easily and routinely found on a
service check. AdkinsAir will
make sure all airflow passages are
free and that you refrigerant (FREON)
charge is up to standard

How much do you
charge per hour?
AdkinsAir does not charge by
the hour. We feel that an hourly
charge is unfair to our customers.
What if you call a company that has
hourly charges and they send you an
inexperienced technician. You will pay
a lot more money for the same repair
than you would pay if you got the
company's top technician. We at
AdkinsAir
think that our customers
shouldn't have to worry about how fast
the tech is or if he's wasting time.
We use the flat rate system of
pricing. For the low price of $69.95
our technician will thoroughly check
your system and diagnose the problem.
The service technician will then show
you a pricing book that lists every
repair possible to make to a heating
or air conditioning system. The price
is written there for you to see and it
doesn't matter if he does it in one
hour or it takes him five hours, your
final price will be the same. And you
will know what the price is going to
be before he does any work. No sticker
shock at
AdkinsAir
.

Why do I need the
Peak Performance Service Agreement?
Reduce Operating
Costs! Depending on the severity of
the problems, savings of more than
$100 per rated ton per year is
possible where maintenance has been
poor or non-existent. Reduce Repair
Costs! Up to 80% of all compressor
failures are caused by something
external to the compressor. When small
problems can be found and repaired
before they become big, service
agreement customers pay for fewer
compressor failures and emergency
repairs. Better Health! Over 12% of
our Nation's GNP is spent on health
related items. Service agreements that
include filter replacement, indoor
coil cleaning, condensate drain pan
cleaning, and proper adjustment of a
building's outside air will help
maintain a healthy indoor environment.
Better Comfort! In commercial HVAC,
comfort has a direct effect on
revenue. Tenants are willing to pay
additional rent for an environment
they perceive to be more comfortable.
Properly maintained HVAC equipment
produces higher levels of comfort.
Cleaner Environment! Properly
maintained HVAC equipment uses less
electricity. A reduction in electrical
demand reduces fossil fuel power plant
emissions. Not only are the levels of
dangerous chemicals and acids reduced,
Carbon Monoxide - which has been
linked to global warming - is also
reduced. Service agreements save
money, improve living conditions and
help to maintain a healthy
environment!

Why should I
maintain my HVAC system?
Even if your heating & air
conditioning system was built to go
the distance, it's got to be
maintained in perfect condition, just
like your car. You wouldn't drive
across the country without tuning up
Old Betsy first, would you? A properly
maintained system will last longer
with fewer breakdowns and save money
every month through lower fuel bills.
So you haven't noticed any problems
with your heating & air-conditioning
system, huh? If you don't regularly
change the oil in your car, you won't
notice problems caused by lack of
maintenance until the engine stops
running, either. The price of an oil
change is much cheaper than the cost
of a new engine! The same is true with
your heating & air conditioning
system. You may not notice the little
problems in the short run - but they
will always catch up with you in the
long run and it costs a lot more to
wait. Since AdkinsAir & Heating,
has specialized in helping homeowners
like you get the best performance
possible from their heating & air
conditioning systems through regular
preventive maintenance, we know - and
our customers know - Preventive
Maintenance works.

I have water
leaking through my ceiling or standing
in my basement floor. What's going on?
An air conditioner de-humidifies the
air. If the humidity is high, like it
usually is in Georgia, there will be
quite a lot of water condensing out of
the air. This water has to go
somewhere. Normally, it drains into
the condensate pan and is carried away
by the condensate drain. Water on the
floor or the ceiling means one of two
things. Your drain system is clogged
or your evaporator pan has rusted
through. A clog is simple to repair
but a rusted coil is a more serious
problem.
AdkinsAir
will
diagnose the problem and tell you
exactly what the cost will be before
any work is done.
